Detoxify, rejuvenate, remineralise skin and body, treat acne, spots, blemishes with Rapan Yellow Clay

Packaging: 0.5/ 1/ 5 kg (polyethylene bag)

Like all the other Rapan products, Yellow Cambrian clay is extracted from an ancient Siberian salt lake. In Russia it is successfully used to treat psoriasis, eczema, dermatitis, numerous health problems, and in the beauty industry. The unique point of this clay is that it combines the benefits of Yellow montmorillonite-rich clays and the mineral base of the saline lake it comes from. While being widely used at Russian medical spas to treat many health problems, in the beauty industry is is most valuable for its drying and purifying action. It draws impurities out of the oily skin, acts as an astringent substance which helps to cleanse closed pores, dry up spots/acne, improve its general appearance.

How does it compare with the Dead Sea clays?

We have not come across yellow clays among the various Dead Sea product ranges we have studied. For this reason, we can claim that Rapan Yellow Cambrian Clay is a unique product. If we compare it with Dead Sea muds, we can say that like all the Rapan products, it has a much higher content of fat-soluble antioxidants (retinoids, carotenoids). Retinoids have been a subject of a scientific research in the UK recently regarding their anti-ageing properties and proved to be the most effective substances in this category.

Rapan clays are unique in their structure and action due to the minerals which come from their saline base. Normally yellow clays are derived from non-saline sources. They are highly-prised in the cosmetic industry for their many beneficial effects on the skin.

How is it different to the Rapan Blue clay and Mud?

Compared to other products from the Rapan range, Rapan Yellow clay is used to treat the same conditions as the other products from the Rapan range, but has a stronger effect on the body. Generally, doctors at Russian sanatoria and beauty clinics classify the strength of action of the Rapan range in the following order: Rapan Blue Clay (mildest) - Rapan Yellow Clay (stronger) - Rapan Mud (strongest effect). Yellow clay is more suitable for oily, dull, congested skin. It can be safely used both by professionals and at home.

Applications of Rapan clays:
  • Bath: mix 250-500g of Rapan clay with warm water (37-38°C). Make sure the clay is mixed with the water properly. Use for detox (the pores dilate in warm temperatures helping ionic exchange between clay and the body), when stressed, tired, recovering from an illness, to help with muscle aches, arthritis, skin problems, etc. For better effect, add Rapan salt (200-300g).
  • Therapeutic application: Fill with a 10 % solution of Rapan salt and knead to get a homogeneous mass. Warm it up on a water bath to 50-60 degrees C. For poultices - use clay mixture at 42-45 °C, layer thickness 1-1,5 cm. Duration of procedure: 30-90 min. Useful for the treatment of psoriasis, arthritis, eczema, ulcers, inflammations, aches and pains, etc. Mix with Rapan Salt for stronger effect.
  • Brush Teeth: use Rapan clay to remove tartar, control bleeding gums, pyorrhoea.
  • Exfoliator/ Body scrub: like all the Rapan products, the yellow clay has a fine sandy consistency which makes it an ideal product for exfoliation. Use in one application as an exfoliator/body scrub and a mask/body wrap.
  • Face mask: mix Rapan clay with water to a smooth paste (using approximately 50% water) and spread evenly over the face; let dry for 20 minutes, then remove with warm water. Use moisturiser to nourish the skin afterwards.
  • Acne: Mix Rapan clay (2 tbsp) with warm water and Rapan salt (1tsp) to make a facial pack. Apply daily. Skin disorders: apply above mixture to an affected area. Can be used for warts, athletes foot, yeast fungus, ringworm, sunburns, scalp, pimples, cuts, boils, cold sores, and shingles,
  • Foot bath: use 100g of Rapan clay in a foot bath (5 litres of warm water) to help soothe aching and tired feet. Add 50g of Rapan salt to multiply the effect and soothe those aching feet.
  • Compress: mix Rapan clay with 10% Rapan salt dissolved in warm water, to form a semi-liquid paste, spread over a clean cloth and apply to an affected area (normally an area of localised problem, e.g. arthritis, strain, sprain, back problem, etc.). Cover the area with warm cloth. Leave on for 1- 1.5 hours. Can be left for longer, even overnight provided the area is kept warm. Mix with Rapan Salt for stronger effect.
  • Poultice: although poultices require more mud/clay, they have a much stronger effect than any other application. Mix Rapan clay and salt (10% water solution) with enough very warm water (50-60 degrees C) to form a spreadable mass. Apply a layer of about 0.5 - 1cm thick directly to the skin. Cover with waterproof material (greeseproof paper is the natural material which lets the skin breathe) and wrap up with warm cloth. Leave on for up to 2 hours.
  • Gargle / Mouth wash: dilute 1-2 tsp of Rapan clay in a glass of water. Gargle or rinse mouth in case of infections.

The product is vacuum-packed in polyethylene bags. It is 100% natural , with the only preservative being the concentrated salt brine from the lake it comes from.

Uses:

Rapan Blue Clay is ready for use in its natural form or in combination with the other products from the Rapan range, as well as with other components as a base for beauty products.
