Rapan Blue Cambrian Clay from the 'Dead Sea' of Siberia

Unique combination of Blue Cambrian clay and mineral-rich saline base of an ancient Siberian salt lake

Packaging: 1kg/ 5kg polyethylene bag

Rapan Blue Cambrian clay is extracted from an ancient Siberian salt lake. Blue Cambrian clays are obtained mainly from non-saline sources. In the clay family they are considered to be the most active and effective. They are quite rare.

Rapan blue clay is unique, since it is found in a salt lake (unlike most clays which are found in quarries, and are therefore non-salty). In Russia Rapan blue clay is used to treat various skin conditions (psoriasis, eczema, dermatitis), health problems, and in beauty spas. The unique nature of this clay is that it combines the benefits of montmorillonite-rich Blue Cambrian clay and the mineral base of the saline lake it is extracted from. It gives this clay the very rich mineral content which can be used to treat a variety of conditions.

How does it compare to Dead Sea products?

It is similar to Dead Sea and marine clays, due to close similarities in chemical structure and action on the body. Like all Rapan products, it has a much higher content of antioxidants and other biologically active substances.

How does it compare to the Rapan Yellow clay and Mud?

Russian medics prefer to use Rapan Blue clay when treating children, the elderly and patients weakened by illness, since it has a milder action on the body than Rapan Mud and Yellow Clay. It can be safely used both by professionals and at home.

Generally, Russian medics classify the strength of action of the Rapan range in the following order: the blue clay (mildest action); yellow clay (stronger); the mud (strongest effect, probably due to the highest content of organic matter in it). Blue clay is more suitable for dry, sensitive and mature skin types, thanks to its subtle action on the skin.

Applications:
  • Bath: mix 1 lb (1/2 lb is enough for a milder bath) of Rapan clay with enough water to fully submerge the body, at 37-38°C. Stir the water properly making sure the clay is mixed with the water properly before getting into the bath. Start by staying in the bath for 15-20 minutes. Increase up to 30-40 minutes. Add hot water as required to keep it warm. Use for detox (the pores dilate in warm temperatures helping ionic exchange between clay and the body), when stressed, tired, recovering from an illness, to help with muscle aches, arthritis, skin problems, etc. For better effect, add Rapan salt (200-300g.

  • Therapeutic applications: for poultices and compresses, use clay mixture at 42-45 °C, Apply on the skin in a fairly thick layer, cover up with cling film, wrap up with a warm cloth (a woollen scarf is a good idea for this). Useful for the treatment of arthritis, aches and pains. Mix with Rapan Salt for stronger effect. A compress or poultice can be left on the skin until it starts feeling cold and unpleasant. The poultice has a thicker layer than a compress and is more powerful in action.
  • Brush Teeth: use Rapan clay to remove tartar, control bleeding gums, pyorrhoea.
  • Facial mask: either apply the Rapan clay as is, or mix with water for sensitive skin types (using approximately 50% water) and spread evenly over the face; let dry for 20 minutes, then remove. Use moisturiser to nourish the skin afterwards.
  • Acne: mix Rapan yellow clay (2 tbsp) with warm water and Rapan salt (1tsp) to make a facial pack. Apply daily or as required.
  • Skin disorders: apply above mixture to an affected area. Can be used for warts, athletes foot, yeast fungus, ringworm, sunburns, scalp, pimples, cuts, boils, cold sores, and shingles, etc.
  • Foot bath (aching/tired feet)- use 200g of Rapan clay in a foot bath (5 litres of warm water) to help soothe aching and tired feet. Add 50g of Rapan salt to multiply the effect and promote ionic exchange.

  • Gargle / Mouth wash: dilute 1-2 tsp of Rapan clay in a glass of water. Gargle or rinse mouth in case of infections.

  • The product is vacuum-packed in strong polyethylene bags. It is 100% natural , with the only preservative being the concentrated salt brine from the lake it comes from.
